Equitable community engagement & decision-making

This 2-hour training will introduce you and your organization to the Community Voice Blueprint, a four-stage process for engaging with historically marginalized communities with an equitable lens.

Racial Equity in Community Engagement

This four week (8 hour) course starts with a brief history of systemic racism in America. Learn how white supremacy culture norms show up in organizations, why change is vital, and tools for doing the work within yourself and your organization.

This training series is by request, customized to meet the growth goals of your organization, and can be offered in person at your office, or virtually.

GET to work! Practical strategies for Community engagement

This three week (6 hour) course will equip you with practical strategies for community engagement & organizing. Learn how to do a “one-to-one", conduct community surveys, build representative tables and put impact before intent.

This training series is by request, customized to meet the growth goals of your organization, and can be offered in person at your office, or virtually.

 
 

Join us for lunch and informal conversations related to community engagement, equity, and working with communities. Our goal is for this to be a place to share our knowledge and also hear from you about challenges and successes you’ve had with community engagement at your organizations. We’ll also do some breathing and body movement, so you’re getting exercise, hanging out with like-minded colleagues, and eating. A perfect combination. See you there!

Organizational Equity Improvement process

In this 6-9 month, completely personalized process, organizations work with Virginia Community Voice to assess your approach to equity, with a particular focus on racial equity and engagement within historically marginalized communities.

We will guide your team through a process of identifying how your organization makes decisions about historically marginalized groups, and how well you are sharing power with them.

We will look at how your team communicates with Black and BIPOC communities and incorporates the voices of directly impacted people into your decision-making; and, we will suggest strategies for reducing barriers for more inclusive, and effective, community engagement.

Collectively, our team has more than 100 years of community engagement experience. Come learn with us!
