The Steering Committee composed of neighbors across Richmond’s Southside who have demonstrated commitment to bringing about positive change in their community.

PURPOSE: to make strategic decisions with the working groups and on behalf of RVA Thrives

PARTICIPATORY BUDGETING (PB) PROGRAM

Developed in 2024, VACV’s Participatory Budgeting (PB) program, led by the RVA Thrives Steering Committee allowed residents to have a direct say in how Virginia Community Voice funds are used in their community.

By involving community members in budgeting decisions, VACV ensures that funding addresses the actual needs and priorities of the residents. The steering committed created a 10 page rulebook for our People’s Budget process.
