THE WORK OF EVERYTHING
In 2026, we’re taking time at VACV to be really clear about what we value—and how that shows up in the work we do every day.
We’re calling this commitment THE WORK of EVERYTHING.
THE WORK of EVERYTHING is how we bring alignment and care to our work. It’s our way of naming something we’ve always believed: that transformative, justice-centered work happens when we intentionally build power through trust, connection, co-creation, and reflection.
Inside our organization. And outside of it.
This work takes shape in two connected ways, grounded in our mission:
Walking alongside neighbors in historically marginalized communities as they realize their vision for their neighborhoods
→ On-the-ground, hyper-local, community-led engagement on the Southside of Richmond, VASupporting institutions as they work to respond more effectively and justly
→ Community-Led Engagement Consulting + Organizational Justice Training
Throughout 2026, our newsletter will be a space for learning and practice. Each issue will unpack how VACV’s methodology— The Community Voice Blueprint—shows up in every part of THE WORK of EVERYTHING, from meetings, community conversations, to institutional decision-making.
We’re currently dreaming up exploring questions like:
What do meetings actually tell us about our workplace culture?
How do we know if listening is really happening?
What does inclusive communication look like across power and difference?
How do we earn trust—rather than assume it?
Who Sets the Rules? Analyzing Power Imbalance in Cultural Integration
If you’re thinking about power, culture, trust, or change in your own work or workplace, and these questions resonate—we’d love for you to be part of this learning community.
