They really, really enjoy me talking to them about RVA Thrives, and what we are doing, and they like the difference that we all are trying to make.

RVA Thrives is doing things for Southside. We got a lot going on. I says, "A little bit here, and a little bit there, but it's getting bigger, it's getting much bigger, yes." I be telling them if they would like to participate ... the way I talk to people, they get real excited. I put that excitement in them. They really, really enjoy me talking to them about RVA Thrives, and what we are doing, and they like the difference that we all are trying to make. Also, they have seen some changes. When we cleaned up, oh boy, I had kids coming to me saying, "Miss Debra, I cleaned my yard up," and I was just so thrilled with that.
