Just By Design: Southside RVA Housing & Climate Carnival
This community carnival is a call to action. Its purpose is to imagine a future that is not only sustainable, but just by design. We know climate change does not impact all communities equally. In Southside Richmond, the risks of heat, flooding, and displacement fall hardest on those already navigating historic inequities.
At the carnival, residents, advocates, builders, and policymakers will come together to:
Prepare Southside Richmond to withstand climate changes
Advance racial and economic equity
Create affordable, resilient housing
Strengthen the fabric of our community
